Tern Appoints Karen Morgan as Global CMO

Industry veteran to position Tern as a differentiated global B2B fintech platform and help drive exponential growth for Tern and its customers.

November 9, 2021 – New York, NY – Tern, a leader in B2B SaaS infrastructure and payment automation, today announced the appointment of Karen Morgan as CMO of Tern.

Tern created the CMO role to differentiate Tern in the SaaS infrastructure and payments space, as well as promote Tern’s unique fintech-as-a-service offering that has been in development over the last six years. To achieve this goal, Tern sought an individual with the right balance of enterprise technology, marketing expertise, and deep fintech knowledge. 

Ms. Morgan brings over 20 years of experience leading marketing, digital campaigns and branding at global fintechs and top banks including Citigroup, BNY Mellon, Credit Suisse, S&P
FIS SunGard,and Moven. Most recently she was the head of marketing at Citigroup’s treasury and trade technology division where she managed branding, marketing, content development and podcasts. 

During her banking career, she created and executed strategic marketing plans for a range of businesses including Operations Technology and Wealth Management. She also worked with analysts to develop thought leadership content and programs. As an experienced fintech CMO, her focus has included global rebranding and repositioning B2C companies as B2B SaaS organizations as well as marketing to the c-suite of banks, fintechs and strategic partners. 

Morgan holds a B.A. from Villanova University, a M.A. from Baruch and passed the Series 7 and 63 licenses. She also earned a certificate from Insead in DeFi, blockchain and crypto in 2021.
